Madrid, the Balearic Islands and Catalonia are the three autonomous communities hit hardest by the current regional financing system, according to data in the second edition of the Autonomous Community Financing Map that the Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB) has just published.

Estas son algunas de las cuestiones tratadas en la ‘Jornada sobre los diferentes modelos de financiación local’, organizada por el IEB y la Diputació de Barcelona, y en la que diversos expertos han analizado los modelos tanto en el marco catalán como en el europeo. 

The Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB) has published a new edition of its IEB Report, entitled “Impact of teacher quality on students’ academic performance”. The Report analyses the impact of teachers on student outcomes and considers which strategies are most efficient in seeking to promote teacher development.

The IEB has incorporated two new PhD students, linked to the Department of Public Economics, Political Economy and Spanish Economy of the University of Barcelona (UB).

The Energy Sustainability Chair of the Institute of Economics of Barclona (IEB) and the Catalan Institute of Energy (ICAEN) have signed the agreement of collaboration of the two organizations to carry out the research project “The challenge of climate change : policies for the energy transition “, framed in the program to promote research Recercaixa. An initiative of the Social Work “la Caixa” in collaboration with the Catalan Association of Public Universities.

The researcher at the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Evaluation of Public Policies (LIPP),Guillaume Chapelle, is the last incorporation at the IEB. The doctor will work at the Cities Program of the organization, where he will continue his research in the areas of urban economy, housing, transport, taxis, public management and political economy.
