The Energy Sustainability Chair of the Institute of Economics of Barclona (IEB) and the Catalan Institute of Energy (ICAEN) have signed the agreement of collaboration of the two organizations to carry out the research project “The challenge of climate change : policies for the energy transition “, framed in the program to promote research Recercaixa. An initiative of the Social Work “la Caixa” in collaboration with the Catalan Association of Public Universities.

The report will analyze the different barriers that companies have to overcome to introduce innovations that improve their energy efficiency, an aspect of great relevance in the necessary process of transformation of the current energy model.

During the project development period, ICAEN will collaborate with IEB researchers and provide the necessary information to address the technical issues of the study. The coordination of the activities of the agreement will be carried out by Joan Esteve (ICAEN) and José García Quevedo (Chair of Energy Sustainability, IEB). The agreement will be valid throughout the investigation and will have a maximum duration of four years.
