The IEB’s 2022 annual report: A summary of 12 intense months of research in economics

The Barcelona Economics Institute (IEB) has just released its annual activities report for 2022. Among other highlights, the year included the closing event for the programme of activities planned around its twentieth anniversary. The event featured a keynote address from Pablo Hernández de Cos, governor of the Bank of Spain. In addition to an account of that important occasion, the report contains detailed information on the IEB’s main activity and raison d’être: research.

In 2022, IEB researchers published a total of 23 papers in JCR-listed journals; 12 more were accepted for publication in forthcoming issues. It is a clearly significant indicator of the IEB’s scientific capabilities. The report offers information on these and many other publications, as well as on the institute’s extensive calendar of activities and events. In 2022, it included, among other things, 35 seminars and events such as the IEB Meeting on Transport Economics and Infrastructure, the annual Energy Sustainability Symposium, the Workshop on Urban Economics, and the IEB Tax Forum 1.1.

Other key milestones in 2022 include the growing number of competitive research grants obtained by IEB researchers and various awards received by researchers and doctoral students. The report also celebrates the 15 students currently doing their doctoral research at the IEB.

All of this and much more is covered in the IEB’s 2022 Report, which boasts an attractive, fully interactive format.
