Javier Vázquez, new post-doc researcher at the IEB

His research interests include the economics of migration, public economics, social security, and applied econometrics

Javier Vázquez Grenno has joined the IEB’s research program in fiscal federalism after winning one of the places awarded by the Institute for post-doc researchers in Public Economics. The duration of the post is three years.

Dr Vàzquez, who is 37 years old, studied Economics in Uruguay and obtained his doctorate at the Autonomous University of (UAB) for his PhD thesis on immigration in Spain, supervised by Dr Miguel Ángel López-García.

As a post-doc researcher at the IEB, Dr Vàzquez will work on the research program in fiscal federalism led by the lecturers Albert Solé-Ollé, i Núria Bosch-Roca, and will also conduct studies in his own research areas of interest.

The selection criteria applied by the IEB included a sound knowledge of quantitative methods, research and teaching experience, fluency in English, and a working knowledge of Spanish. Dr Vàzquez speaks both these languages fluently and also knows some Catalan and Portuguese.
