Climate change is a main threat to the world. To hurdle this challenge, economies need a new growth strategy that boost an effective and fair transition towards low-carbon and climate-resilient activities. Targeting those purposes, it is essential to count with finance support from private and public sources indistinctively to foster clean research and innovation. This green funding will help to develop new sustainable technologies and disruptive innovations that will allow further decarbonize the energy system, ensure that buildings are more energy efficient, accelerate the shift to sustainable and smart mobility, and mobilize the industry towards a clean and circular economy. At the same time, accomplishing the transition will lead to significant structural changes in the labor force reshaping its competences by reskilling and upskilling, critical enablers for attaining the sustainable economy. Considering this context, the Symposium offers a platform for debate and discussion of the opportunities and challenges for the achievement of a green and sustainable economy, characterized by its inclusiveness and resilience. Authors are invited to submit empirical papers emphasizing on the energy policy implications applied to oil, gas, or electricity sector
