Led by researcher <a href=\"https:\/\/ieb.ub.edu\/en\/investigadores\/rodriguez-planas-nuria-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>N\u00faria Rodr\u00edguez-Planas<\/strong><\/a>, the programme <a href=\"\/?page_id=19466\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Gender, Institutions and Culture<\/strong><\/a> will work to broaden the understanding of gender differences in various areas, such as the home, education, the labour market, STEM fields, wealth, participation in risk behaviours, public health, political empowerment, victimization and perpetration.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the only novelty among the IEB\u2019s programmes. Professors <a href=\"https:\/\/ieb.ub.edu\/en\/investigadores\/arenas-jal-andreu-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Andreu Arenas<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/ieb.ub.edu\/en\/investigadores\/gamalerio-matteo-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Matteo Gamalerio<\/strong><\/a> are the new directors of the <a href=\"\/?page_id=521\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Political Economy<\/strong><\/a> programme (previously the Fiscal Federalism programme), taking over from Albert Sol\u00e9, professor at the University of Barcelona. Another of the programmes with changes in leadership is the <a href=\"\/?page_id=1041\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Infrastructure and Transportation<\/strong> <\/a>programme, in which <a href=\"https:\/\/ieb.ub.edu\/en\/investigadores\/asensio-javier-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Javier Asensio<\/strong><\/a>, professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, has become co-director alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/ieb.ub.edu\/en\/investigadores\/matas-prat-anna-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Anna Matas<\/strong><\/a>, professor at the same university.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB) has incorporated a new research programme dedicated to the issue of gender.
