Three IEB doctoral students listed on the Job Market

Three PhD students from the Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB) – Abhinav Khemka, Alex Izquierdo and Marianna Magagnoli – are currently listed on the Job Market. The Job Market allows students completing their PhD to contact universities and other institutions that are currently looking for new researchers.

Abhinav Khemka, from India, holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Queensland, Australia, and has research experience at the London School of Economics (LSE). His thesis supervisors are the IEB researcher and UB Professor Pilar Sorribas and the UB Professor Jordi Muñoz. His topics of interest are development economics and political economy. His thesis is entitled “Essays in Political Economics: Theory and Evidence from India”.

Àlex Izquierdo Nofuentes, from Spain, has a Master’s degree in economic analysis from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). His research is in the field of economics of education, behavioural economics, public economics and applied microeconomics. His thesis supervisors are Professor Andreu Arenas and Professor Daniel Montolio, both researchers at the IEB. His thesis aims to contribute to a better understanding of decision-making processes.

Marianna Magagnoli, from Italy, has a degree from the University of Bologna and a Master’s degree in economics from the University of Mannheim in Germany. Her research is in the field of urban economics and is specifically focused on issues related to the impact of teleworking and urban mobility. Her thesis supervisors are UB Professor Elisabet Viladecans and Miquel Àngel García López, lecturer at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).
