The IEB report for 2023: twelve months of achievement

The Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB) has just published its annual report which records its activity in 2023. One of the most notable events was the launch of the Observatory of Fiscal Federalism, thus consolidating one of the key lines of research that the IEB has pursued since its foundation.

IEB researchers published a total of 36 articles in journals included in the Journal Citation Reports in 2023 and another 20 articles were accepted for publication in future editions. These figures bear witness to the IEB’s scientific capacity. But beyond these publications, many other papers are included in the annual report along with descriptions of the institute’s intense activity in organizing events, among them these five workshops: the annual International Academic Symposium on Energy Sustainability, the biennial Workshop on the Economics of Taxation, the biennial Workshop on Political Economy, the Workshop on Disability Economics, and the Workshop on Eco-Innovation, Circular Economy, and Firm Performance. In addition, 38 seminars on key contemporary issues were held over the course of the year.

Other significant achievements recorded during 2023 are the 34 competitive research projects obtained by IEB researchers and the various awards received by researchers and doctoral students. In the past year, five new researchers and four associate researchers joined the IEB, in addition to two new doctoral students.

All this and many other issues are reflected in this IEB 2023 Report, which is presented in an attractive, fully interactive format.
