The economists Filippo Tassinari, Antoine Zerbini and Francesco Ferlenga have joined the Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB) as researchers. In this way, the IEB continues to add talent in its different areas of knowledge. In this case, it does so with three academics who until now had links with the IEB as associate researchers.
With a PhD in Economics from the University of Barcelona and the Barcelona Institute of Economics, Filippo Tassinari has spent part of his career at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, in research and teaching tasks. He joins the IEB team of researchers to work, among other topics, on public economics, urban economics and transport economics. Her main lines of research analyse the spatial distribution and the consequences of the negative externalities associated with transport in cities.
Antoni Zerbini holds a PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics. He has been a teacher and researcher at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Zerbini will investigate issues such as censorship, investigative journalism and fact-checking, and purges in authoritarian organizations within the framework of the IEB. Among his main lines of research are the economics of information, as well as authoritarian politics.
Finally, Francesco Ferlenga holds a PhD in Economics from Brown University, developing part of his career at the University of Warwick and at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, in research and teaching tasks. Ferlenga accedes to the position of researcher at the IEB to research, among other topics, in political economy and economic history. His main lines of research include how electoral institutions shape electoral competition and the factors that facilitate integration between groups in pluralistic societies.
