Rosa Sanchis-Guarner and Jenifer Ruiz-Valenzuela have recently joined to the IEB as researchers

The economists Rosa Sanchis-Guarner and Jenifer Ruiz-Valenzuela have recently joined the Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB) as researchers and lecturers at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Barcelona (UB). Professor Sanchis-Guarner has a PhD from the London School of Economics (LSE) and until very recently she was working as a researcher at Queen Mary University, London. She previously pursued her career at Imperial College Business School and at the LSE itself, specifically working on the Centre for Economic Performance’s Urban Programme. Her areas of specialization are urban economics, transportation economics, public policy evaluation, and applied microeconomics.

Professor Jenifer Ruiz-Valenzuela has a doctorate from the European University Institute. She is also an associate researcher at the Centre for Economic Performance of the LSE, coordinator of the ‘Gender and Inequality’ area at the Esade Centre for Economic Policies, and editor of the economics blog ‘5centims.cat’. She previously worked as an economist at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and at the Bank of Spain. Professor Ruiz-Valenzuela is an expert in the economics of education and employment and public economics.
