The gender gap in the labour market is currently the subject of much debate in the news media and in political forums. There is an ample body of evidence, for example, that both the female rate participation in the job market and women’s wages3 are lower than those of men. However, this gender gap manifests itself in many other aspects of life and in all countries, regardless of their level of development. The proportion of women at risk of poverty and exclusion is higher than that of men (EUROSTAT, 2018).
