IEB Report 3/2024 examines policies to mitigate gender inequalities in the labour market

The Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB) has published the IEB Report 3/2024 “Policies to address gender inequalities in the labour market”. Coordinated by Jenifer Ruiz-Valenzuela, professor of economics at the UB, the document analyses the extent to which different policies have contributed to mitigating gender inequalities in the labour market.

This IEB Report specifically analyses studies on the impact on the labour market of three of the most relevant political measures in this area: policies on maternity and paternity leave, on the availability of nursery schools for early childhood, and on labour flexibility. The authors of these papers review the effects of these policies with regard to reducing the gender gap in the labour market.

In addition to Professor Ruiz-Valenzuela, the researchers who have participated in the report are: Libertad González, Universitat Pompeu Fabra; Lídia Farré, IAE-CSIC & BSE; and Claudia Hupkau, CUNEF Universidad & CEP (LSE).
