IEB and Cuatrecasas sign a collaboration agreement

The Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB) and Cuatrecasas have signed an agreement through which the law firm will collaborate with the research program on “Analysis of Tax Systems”.

The program, directed by Alejandro Esteller-Moré, professor of Public Economics at the University of Barcelona (UB), aims to promote quality research in the field of taxation, with emphasis on empirical research and analysis of the Spanish tax system in order to generate socially useful knowledge in this field.

According to Professor and IEB researcher Alejandro Esteller, the agreement with Cuatrecasas will “strengthen collaboration between academia and professionals in the field of taxation, which is entirely necessary to carry out research with an impact on society”.

The collaboration with Cuatrecasas will also allow to enhance regular activities, such as the IEB Tax Forum, and carry out new undertakings in this area. Álvaro Escuder, partner at Cuatrecasas, stresses in this sense that “collaboration with IEB, on an issue as important and as topical as that of taxation, reinforces the social aspect of our organisation. We are convinced that the relationship we establish will be very fruitful for the citizens as a whole.”
