Workshop on Political Economy

The recent economic crisis has posed important challenges to the political institutions and public finances of developed and developing countries. These challenges have motivated scholars to study both the political determinants and consequences of these recent events. The aim of this workshop is to bring together scholars studying topics like populism, polarization, corruption, political economy of migration, conflict, selection of politicians and the interaction between public finances and political institutions, among others. Both theoretical and empirical papers are welcome.

 

 

FURTHER INFORMATION

Manuscripts must be submitted by email (ieb.workshop@ub.edu) in PDF format indicating in the subject the name of the workshop.

Each paper can only be submitted to one of the two workshops.

Attendance is free for presenters and it includes coffee breaks, lunches and the conference dinner.

Some limited funding for accommodation might be available for PhD students. PhD students who are interested in this funding should express their interest in the submission email.
