The IEB (Barcelona Institute of Economics), jointly with the Department of Public Economics at University of Barcelona, invites applications for a post-doctoral researcher beginning in September 2015.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to research and an active participation to the activities of both the IEB and the Department.

La finalitat de l’ajut és fomentar el coneixement sobre els Governs Locals de Catalunya, com a conseqüència de la transformació que s’està patint degut a l’impacte de la crisi econòmica i els canvis dels règims locals estatals i català. Aquests fenòmens han comportat, entre altres, una major pressió als governs locals per a fer front a les necessitats de la ciutadania repensant el seu marc financer i pressupostari i l’eficiència de les seves polítiques i serveis.

We offer 2 PhD Scholarships for 3 years, starting September 2014. We are looking for students who have graduated after 2010 and who aim at enrolling on the PhD program in Economics (University of Barcelona). We are looking for students who have graduated after 2009 and who aim at enrolling on the PhD program in Economics (University of Barcelona). The candidates must have a Master in Economics completed by summer 2013 and fulfil the admission requirements of the PhD program in Economics, University of Barcelona (http://www.ub.edu/ubeconomics/phd-in-economics/). A very good academic record and good English are also required for the position.

The programme is aimed at active researchers working in the fields of Industrial Organisation and Regulation, who are interested in visiting IEB in 2012 for a short period of time (1 or 2 weeks).
Visiting researchers will benefit, during this period, from the IEB’s research competence in the above mentioned areas. They are expected to participate to the vibrant life of the department, which includes participating to seminars, social events, and meetings, and to interact with IEB members and graduate students. Visiting researchers will be able to strengthen their contacts with IEB researchers, and hopefully to lay the foundations for joint projects.

The programme is aimed at active researchers working in the fields of Economics of Innovation and Urban Economics, who are interested in visiting IEB in 2012 for a short period of time (1 or 2 weeks).
Visiting researchers will benefit, during this period, from the IEB’s research competence in the above mentioned areas. They are expected to participate to the vibrant life of the department, which includes participating to seminars, social events, and meetings, and to interact with IEB members and graduate students. Visiting researchers will be able to strengthen their contacts with IEB researchers, and hopefully to lay the foundations for joint projects.

The programme is aimed at active researchers working in the fields of Fiscal Federalism, Political Economy and Economics of Taxation, who are interested in visiting IEB in 2012 for a short period of time (1 or 2 weeks).
Visiting researchers will benefit, during this period, from the IEB’s research competence in the above mentioned areas. They are expected to participate to the vibrant life of the department, which includes participating to seminars, social events, and meetings, and to interact with IEB members and graduate students.

The program is aimed at researchers working in the fields of ‘Fiscal Federalism’, ‘Political Economy’ and ‘Economics of Taxation’ who are interested in visiting IEB for a short period of time (one or two weeks). During this period, visiting researchers can benefit from the IEB’s research competence in these areas, and participate in seminars and other events. We look for students who graduated after 2006 and who aim at enrolling at the PhD program in Economics at University of Barcelona. We prefer candidates with a Master in Economics (or DEA, for Spain) to be completed by summer 2010. Note that, in any case, advanced micro, macro and econometrics courses are a prerequisite for the admission to the PhD program and thus for the awarding of the scholarship. A very good academic record and good English are also required for the position.
