Antoni Garrido, researcher at the IEB, winner of the Joan Sardà Dexeus Prize

Antoni Garrido, Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Barcelona (UB) and the Barcelona Economics Institute (IEB), has received the Joan Sardà Dexeus Prize awarded by the Revista Econòmica de Catalunya.

 

Antoni Garrido, Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Barcelona (UB) and the Barcelona Economics Institute (IEB), has received the Joan Sardà Dexeus Prize awarded by the Revista Econòmica de Catalunya, the journal of the Economists’ Association of Catalonia.

Garrido won the prize for the best book in Economics and Business, as the joint author of the book “Caixa Sabadell. Finances i acció social, 1859-2009”, which explores the history of this Catalan financial institution. Garrido’s co-authors were Josep M. Benaul (Lecturer in Economic History) and Carles Sudrià (Professor in Economic History), both members of the UB’s Faculty of Economics and Business. .

Awarded by the Revista Econòmica de Catalunya since 1996, these prizes bear the name of Professor Joan Sardà Dexeus in recognition of his work in the field of economics, and are sponsored by the Banc Sabadell Atlántico.
